So Many Things have happened....

As you guys know, since 1st Apr I had my 30% pay cut. On 14th Apr Good Friday, Hub was bitten by a Blind Husky that we were boarding. Sent him to Doc Tan immediately and doc gave him a jab saying that its quite a bad bite. Wolfie had bit both his wrist and blood was dripping. He had to go for dressing every alternate days to clean the wound. On the 3rd day, doc said that the wound is having a bad infection, resulted in having pus and was surprised why hub was not having a fever. In the end, he has to go back to the clinic everyday to let doc clean the wound. Poor Hub, it was kindoff painful as the wound was deep...

After around 5 days of daily cleaning of wound by doc and of course medical bills, doc finally allow me to do the dressing for him myself at home... so I had my fair share of fun wraping my hub's wrist... hahhah Ba Zang time.. Lol... But Wolfie also another problem one, why must bite both his wrist??? In the end, he couldn't do anything, cannot bath himself, cannot carry the kids... I had to do it all by myself coping with a new maid too.. Sigh. Best part is, we spend almost near to $100 on medical not calculating the pain and trouble, but the owners of Wolfie refused to pay for medical claiming that they were not around to see the incident happen. But when they came, we say Wolfie mouth his owner's wrist too and he did not correct him so we guessed that it must have been a habit... :(

After this whole incident blew over, it was already beginning of May. Initially, hub planned that we will send kids over to my parents place and go for a nice buffet dinner on 11th of May.
But.... Around 2nd week of May which was around 8th May,Hub had a terrible pain near his bum and had high fever for several days. In the end realised that Pus was the culprit. Brought hub to the doc again and was given antibiotics to clear the infection and painkillers to stop the pain and was told to go back for review on 14th of May. On the 14th, his pain was still very bad, he couldn't sit or lie down properly and was still having high fever despite medication given. After seeing Doc Tan, he was refered to TTSH and was admitted immediately. The Docs at TTSH said that he has to go for an op on the very same day and have to fast immediately. No food no water till the op. It was around 12pm that he was sent in, still in pain. No one advised if he could take the next dose of painkillers and he was just pushed to the observation ward with the many other patients. Seeing him in pain and shivering, I told the nurses there that he's running a very high fever and is due for medication, they say that they will check with the doc and get back. Finally, they came to give him a jab, hub felt better and finally fell asleep. We waited in the observation ward till around 9pm at night before he was wheeled to ward. After all the hustle bustle, I accompanied him till around 11pm, the doc still did not come to put the drip for him. He was nearly dehydrated as they wanted him to fast for op but no one put drip for him. Its already almost 12 hrs with no food and drink... I called for the nurse many times and before I left for home about 11 plus, she assured that the doc is on his way and will keep an eye on hub for me. Kissed hub goodbye and I went home. Went downstairs to the taxi stand and realised that there was quite a queue so decided to walk out to see if I could hitch a cab. After walking out, felt that "hmmmm, maybe I can walk home since its so near", so guess what, I walked home!!! hahahahah, freaked my dad and bro out.. lol.. they scolded me and say that I'm already 7months plus preg and still walk back at wee hours not forgetting on Mothers' Day. I don't mean to be cheeky, its just that I dun wan to waste more money already.

Reached home at 11:30pm all alone.. (kids at parents place), had a nice bath and went to sleep as I gotto wake up early next morning to buy breaky for hub. As he fasted the whole of Sunday, he wanted to have Uppuma and a nice ice cold drink... Poor Hub spent his first hours of his 28th Bday in the Operating Theatre. Op started at 1am. When dad sent the kids back to my place in the morning, he too sent me to Tekka to pack food for Shawn.

Reached hospital about 8 plus in the morning, I got a shock. Cause I have never seen hub so vulnerable before. He had tubes in his nose, looked so pale and on drips. OT Gown was with blood also. Heard that the drip they put for him after I left was not working so they removed and poked another one. It did not work again so in the OT, they poked another needle into him for the drip. 3 holes! Talk about professionalism... It seems that after the op, they let him inhale pure oxygen (that explains the tube). It was very very painful cause it was an open wound which has to heal on its own. He couldn't sit nor walk much due to the location of the wound. Hub was also pek chek with himself as he couldn't do anything on his own. He was discharged on the very same night. While in TTSH, I went to buy him 2 slices of cake to celebrate his Bday... Poor Hub, whole of his Bday was spent in the hospital, some more in so much pain. In the end TTSH only gave him Anti Biotics and PARACETEMOL.

PARACETEMOL leh!!! Freaking open wound about 5cm big 4cm deep, only gave paracetemol?? What are the docs thinking about man.. Asked the nurses about it and they say that's normally what they give, we can request stronger painkillers from the GP when we go for dressing. S0 no choice loh, we then took a cab home, cut the cake while hub was standing and brought him into the room to rest.

For the next few days, it was pretty hectic for us. I went to work early in the morning after making sure hub was okie, rushed back during lunch by cab to bring him to the wash room, wipe his body then took another cab to the clinic. Doc had to use the (dunno what) solution to wipe/wash his wound... It was so painful for him that he was shivering in pain then doc put on fresh dressing for him. It was so painful that he didn't want to go to the doc at all... He couldn't do much stuffs on his own, if I had placed him in the chair in the morning, he would stay in that position till I come back during lunch cause it was very painful and due to the aneasthetics, he didn't have much strength for the first few days and cannot pull himself up. This went on for roughly a week. This drained us mentally, physically and financially. :(

Hub was very worried about our finances cause he was still under probation and all these MCs would be considered as unpaid leave. And daily dressing costs $, cabs costs $. Hub didn't even want to go or suggested that we could do the dressing at home ourselves so that we don't have to waste money on cabs. Told hub that we won't be able to do it ourselves and doc will not allow as its a pretty big wound and if infected, it will be pretty serious. Also during this incident, we realised that hub was allergic to a specific painkiller cause after the painkiller, he had rashes all over his body... :( We had to change to another lighter painkiller instead. As he could not sit, he was given priority to see doc, so hub in the end guai guai de go for dressing everyday.

His MC given by the hospital ends on 24th May but as wounds have not fully recovered, Doc extended MC till 26th May.
BUT :( just before he was supposed to go back to work, his back had some mosquito or bug bites which resulted in another bouts of infection and led to pus. As hub was very worried about work, he insisted to go back to work with the pain despite docs advise. So doc had no choice but to give him antibiotics and pain killers and insisted that he must go back to the clinic for review at night on 29th May. Doc also instructed that we have to do hot compress on the wound followed by applying Bactroban (antibacteria cream) on the spots hoping that the pus will burst and can clear on its own.

On 30th night, I dragged him to the Doc as he still had that terrible pain and upon reaching there, nurses tested his temperature and it was 38.9°C! And to think that he said that he will look after himself lah... all were bullshit... I warned him that if things got any better, he would have to get off work and stay at home to recuperate. Doc analysed his situation and advised that we need to continue the hot compress and the cream, if the pus filled boils dun clear on its own, he would have to go back to TTSH for another op to drain the pus.

Upon hearing this, I got pretty worried. Did the hot compress for dear hub every night and prayed for the boils to burst and pus to clear. Finally after 3 -4 days, the boils burst but it was still a slow process and I had to bring hub to the doc again for her to squeeze out the pus. It was really painful cause the biggest boil had a diameter of around 3.5-4cm. The hole itself was about 3-4mm. He had to again hold his breath and tahan the pain while doc used a medical apparatus to pull out the mucus plug of the boil and squeeze out the pus. Doc says that she had never seen so much pus in a man before and that hub really poor thing cause it is real painful...

But sigh, what can we do? Doc couldn't tell us a specific reason why all these happened but just said that hub's immunity level is quite low. Finally in around 2nd - 3rd week of June, he healed completely after daily changing of dressings done by me eventually.
I joked that he has a private nurse now and after roughly 2 months of experience, I can be a nurse.. hahaha minus the bloodly scenes part...

Finally, I had time to prepare for my baby after all these hoo haa... I realised that in the end, I had less than 2 months to get everything ready. Best part was, we were running low in cash too. I had already owe bro $ and now.... sigh.

I posted a thread in Singaporemotherhood for help in buying baby stuffs and if anyone is giving away anything. I was overwhelmed by the help that was rendered. Some were mummies whom I've not known before and some were those that I've helped before when I was better financially. I really felt touched and my baby items were quickly stocked up and now, I'm almost ready for my baby's arrival.

Things have really not been smooth since Apr, after paying for all medical bills, hub's Road tax and Insurance expired and as he was "sick" during Apr to June, he could not ride his bike let alone say bring bike for inspection. So in the end, after not riding bike for 1 months plus or so, his bike also gave him problems and could not start. We called for tow on 17th June and asked the bike shop to also send his bike for inspection. That again costs money... In total, we spent $515 on his bike (Road Tax + Insurance + Repairs + Tows) ... Sigh. Seems that the $ we owe my bro was rolling to a bigger amount... seems never ending.

I really thank God for the mummies whom have helped me in times of needs and I too have promised that I will pass out the items after I have passed this difficult times.

Now I only can wait patiently for my little prince to arrive without complications and in good health. Please do pray for my family if you do read this and I will soon post a pic of my little prince once he arrives in God's blessings.

Ps: Dunno why I cannot post the pics on this post. Will post a seperate post with the pics.
